Even though one in every seven Illinois residents is now an immigrant, Governor Quinn wants to slash immigrant services by almost 75% in his new budget.
We can’t let him do this. The size of this cut would decimate Illinois’ immigrant services, giving 47,052 fewer families access to basic care.
These funds provide families with health care, emergency food supplies, nutrition assistance, domestic violence counseling, and economic development advice. These funds help immigrants to learn English, become US Citizens, and help them contribute to our state.
Don’t slash funds vital to our immigrant community. Tell Governor Quinn to restore funding for immigrant services.
